As the prevalence of dental implants increases so does the incidence of implant complications.  Studies evaluating the frequency of implant related complications have found that the most common biologic complications include soft tissue abscess and fistula formation, gingival margin recession and papilla loss, and the development of mucositis and peri-implantitis.  This presentation will discuss the etiology and treatment of the most common biologic implant complications and more importantly how to avoid them.
